Hello, blog! Just wanted to take a little bit and update everyone on my crazy, wild move!
If you have been following me for a bit, you've heard about my move. Me and my partner have picked up house and moved to another apartment, which was both a blessing and a curse. Our old place was drafty, outdated, and aged, with rusty, loud pipes and creaky floors. Now, don't get me wrong. I am not complaining. That apartment was the first place that me and my partner lived together. It was our home. But our new landlord wanted to completely redo the entire building, so we were offered a nicer place in the same complex! Score!
All last week, we have been moving at a frantic pace. We started working on Monday afternoon and I dont think we stopped until we collapsed in bed Thursday night. And with the pandemic being a concern, it was down to just the two of us. No family, no friends, just me and him and our sore backs and arms.
But we did it! The two of us put our heads down and we moved!
Unpacking is going fast, maybe even faster than packing. My goal today was to have my desk up and running again so I can get back to writing. Not writing for the last 3 days has been a strange feeling, especially because I like writing daily to keep my mind fresh and my creativity on point. So, with my desk ready for me to work at, I am excited to finally get back to work.
In the next few weeks, I'll be gearing up to release my third novella, which is super exciting. The cover is getting finalized now, and the story is shaping up so nicely. I'm a sucker for a classic "enemies to friends to lovers" tale, so this one really pulled at my heart strings. Victoria and Samuel were just so much fun to write, too! Getting to write them both as snippy and angry gave me quite a few giggles, and as the story progressed, my heart melted! I'll be getting the story back from my editor soon, so a publishing date should reveal itself in the next week or two.
And after that, we shall see! Writing the novellas has been a blast, even though I have "Tea Witch" in my back pocket.
But updates on "Tea Witch" are for another time!
Right now, I am just so, so thankful to be settling into my new home and getting back into my routine! I've never felt more grateful!
If January brought my first Novella to Amazon, then February is gonna bring my second!
Today, Feb. 15th, my second love story is going live on Amazon and KindleUnlimited!
Wanna get a sneak peek at the cover and title?
I want to preface with this: I love this story! It's the love story of a cursed woman named Brandy. Every man who has ever fallen in love with her has vanished mysteriously. And the only way that she can break the curse is to seek out the help of a handsome hermit warlock named Wexton. Together, they work to break the Lovers Curse, while fighting their ever-growing feelings for one another.
Ready to see the cover?
This cover is AMAZING! I just love it so much. Wexton looks so cool on the cover and the colors of his magic are spot on for how he is written in the story! Just looking at it makes me giddy!
I will be pushing the story onto Amazon on Valentine's day, so hopefully it will be up and ready to read on Feb, 15th! I cannot wait to get this story into everyone's hands. It's been so much fun writing these novellas and telling these condensed stories. And with every one that I put out into the world, it makes me feel more confident in my writing and storytelling skills.
I am currently in the middle of another novella, but I'll be moving in the next few weeks, so it may be slightly delayed. I would love to have another story out by mid-march, with May being my goal for releasing "To Love A Tea Witch." I know I have been teasing it a lot, but it is coming!
For now, I hope you all enjoy "Breaking the Lovers Curse"!
It has been a few weeks since the release of The Sorcerer's Apprentice and its been making a few ripples on Amazon. It's been very encouraging to see people finding and reading by debut novella, and I could not be happier about the result! A fresh author on a major platform and the book is getting reads? Man, I couldn't have wished for more!
So what do we do now?
We write the next novella!
This time, I feel more confident in the story and the process. It's another paranormal tale, where our main character, Brandy, lives under a terrible curse that makes any man who falls in love with her vanish. Only a mysterious warlock, Wexton, can help her craft a potion to break the curse so she can find true love.
We are just going to complicate things by watching them fall for one another!
I am so, so excited about this story! You just have no idea. If I was giddy over watching Lily and Jorah's love bloom, I am positively gleeful over Brandy and Wexton!
I finished this story up early last week and have mailed it off to my editor. I've heard to expect it back in the next day or two, and after that, it's just a matter of shining up my gem and putting it out there alongside by first story!
In the meantime, I have been spending my free time doing a second read through of "To Love a Tea Witch." I'm pleased with the edits and changes that have been made to the draft, and I think I am almost ready to send the book off to beta readers! I know that the process of working on this novel has been slow. Heck, I started writing this story back in September after originally coming up with the idea last summer! I know it seems slow! But I would rather take my time and put out a book that was worth reading instead of publishing my first draft and hoping that it sticks to the wall.
Keep an eye on this space for news about my second novella! Title and cover reveal will be coming later this week!
On January 21, 2021, I became a published author!
A real, true, published author!
No, "Tea Witch" is not ready to grace your kindles just yet. It's in its second round of revisions and it is looking incredibly promising so far! I love what we (me and my editor) have been able to accomplish with the first and second draft, and I think that we are very, very close to a hot release.
Today, we are talking about another project of mine. For a while, I was preparing to write longer works by writing novellas. I did four of them before I started writing Tea Witch, and after some thinking, I thought it would be fun to release them ahead of my novels!
The first one, the one that was published today, is called "The Sorcerer's Apprentice!" I touched on it a bit in my last blog post, but it's the first story were I really, truly fell in love with my characters. Lily is the apprentice of the story, a young witch who has been sent out to study under the greatest master of transmogrification in the world. The Master is Jorah, a recluse and genius in the magical world. She falls in love at first sight, but his secret past forces him to keep her at bay. Will they give in to their feelings for one another, and what will it mean for Lily's magical career?
The Sorcerer's Apprentice is Live!
I cannot wait for readers to find this sweet, sexy novella! It was a real stretch of my writing skills, and I had SO much fun working on it!
Let me know what you think of the story! Leave a comment down below or leave a review on Amazon!
Just me, a paranormal romance author with big dreams and even bigger crushes!
