It's not quite October, but I am definitely in the swing of Preptober!
If you're not familiar with the world of NaNoWriMo, just know that October is just as special as November. It's not just the time for pumpkin-flavored goodies and plenty of spooky treats, but it is also time to start prepping to write a novel in a month!
Prep... Tober... Get it?
I'm getting a jump start on prepping for my NaNoWriMo novel. I've been reading Save the Cat Writes a Novel for the past little bit, and the first part of my novel prep involves me planning out To Love A Tea Witch using this method. I've created a small spreadsheet for myself that breaks down each beat, with some extra tips, and I've left a space in the middle for all of my prep.
Want a sneak peek at what I've cooked up?
My apologies, but I really geek out for a good spreadsheet!
I am so excited to watch this novel start to take shape. Sydney's story is one that I have wanted to tell for a long time, and I want to make sure that I do her justice.
This is just the start of my prep for next month's NaNoWriMo! More is coming with the start of October, and November first will be THE day!
I absolutely love fall! It's my favorite of the seasons, with spring being a very close second. And Spring can be quite wonderful, with blooming flowers and trees that get bigger and fuller and greener with each passing day. But there is just something about the fall that hits me in all the right spots. Maybe it is the flavors of the season, because I am always hard pressed to pass up a pumpkin roll or a glass of hot apple cider. Maybe its the colors as the world turns from lush and green to shades of red, orange, and brown.
Nah, it's the events! The holidays! I am such a sucker for Halloween! Give me a good corn maze and I am entertained for hours! Throw me on a hay ride and I could look at the stars all night.
And of course, there's NaNoWriMo!
NaNoWriMo is going to rock my socks this year, because I am going to have everything ready to start my debut novel as soon as November 1st rolls around!
That's right, I am here to declare that for the month of November, I am going to write 50,000 words!
I've done some good planning on my story. Between figuring out the plot and the main characters, I have also titled the story and have started putting together an image board for me to stare at when the cursor on the screen starts blinking. And my work in progress officially has a name.
To Love A Tea Witch
What do you think? I am so in love with it! It's perfect for Sydney and her journey into both magic and love and potion making and everything else in between! It also works perfectly, too, since each of her friends have different powers from the next, which gives me a lot of room to make this loose series a reality!
September needs to hurry up and roll along because I cannot wait for November 1st!
Just me, a paranormal romance author with big dreams and even bigger crushes!
